Setup

The Setup tab houses the core configuration for your help center. These general settings control how your knowledge base is accessed, where it lives on your site, and how it connects to the rest of your project.

Root URL

The base path determines exactly where your knowledge base lives on your website. For example, if you set the path to help, your articles will be accessible at yoursite.com/help. Common choices for this path include help, docs, support, or knowledge-base—choose the one that best fits how you present resources to your audience.

Define Your Root URL

Control exactly where your knowledge base lives on your website. By configuring the Root URL, you establish a dedicated, integrated path for all your categories and articles, keeping your documentation organized and easy for customers to find.

Layout Templates

Use the Layout Templates section to borrow page structures directly from your website apps. By wrapping your knowledge base in an existing template—like a standard page that already includes your main navigation and footer—you ensure your help center looks and feels like a natural extension of your main site. A knowledge base that shares your website's header and footer feels integrated and professional, providing a seamless, unified experience for your visitors.

Configuring Layout Templates

Integrate your knowledge base seamlessly with your main website. By selecting a Website App and a standard page template, you can wrap your help articles in your existing header and footer—creating a unified, professional experience for your readers.

The Danger Zone tab contains the option to delete your knowledge base entirely. If you choose to delete your knowledge base, it—along with all of its articles and categories—will be moved to the project trash.
