Setup
The Setup tab houses the core configuration for your knowledge base. These general settings control how your knowledge base is accessed, where it lives on your site and how it connects to the rest of your project.
Root URL
The base path determines where your knowledge base lives on your website. For example, if you set the path to kb, your articles are accessible at addresses like https://giantcontext.com/en/kb/getting-started/the-assistant, where getting-started is the category and the-assistant is the article slug. Common choices for this path include kb, docs, support or help. Choose the one that fits how you present resources to your audience.
Define your root URL
Control exactly where your knowledge base lives on your website. By configuring the Root URL, you establish a dedicated, integrated path for all your categories and articles, keeping your documentation organized and easy for customers to find.
Layouts
Use the Layouts section to borrow page structures directly from your website apps. Wrapping your knowledge base in an existing layout, such as a standard page that already includes your main navigation and footer, means your knowledge base shares the same header and footer as the rest of your site.
Configuring layouts
Select a website app and a standard page layout to wrap your help articles in your existing header and footer.
Tip: Use layouts over individual headers/footers. Layouts are maintained centrally in your website app. When you update a layout there, the changes automatically flow to your knowledge base, saving you from having to track and update multiple elements across your project.
The Danger Zone tab contains the option to delete your knowledge base entirely. If you choose to delete your knowledge base, it and all of its articles and categories will be moved to the project trash.
