Intercom runs support. Giant Context runs support, marketing and the site together.
Intercom is the most mature AI support platform in the market, and Fin resolves a share of tickets on its own. It is a support tool with its own inbox and its own knowledge base, priced per seat and per resolution. Giant Context's chat answers from the same content that writes your site, your blog and your emails.
What Intercom does well
Fin is the most mature AI support agent shipping today, with a credible resolution rate and Procedures, the ability to take actions in connected systems such as issuing a refund or changing a subscription. Setup is fast, especially if you already keep a knowledge base, and Intercom sells Fin as a layer on top of an existing helpdesk.
If you run support volume that justifies a dedicated tool and need the strongest autonomous resolution and action execution in the category, Fin fits that job. This page is about a different problem.
The knowledge base is the difference
Chat that already knows the business
Intercom's Fin answers from Intercom's knowledge base, maintained separately from your blog, your docs, your marketing pages. Edit a blog post and Intercom's KB doesn't know. Giant Context's chat answers from the same content everything else is written from.
The same knowledge base, everywhere
The knowledge base the chat answers from is the same knowledge base that informs the blog. The contact who asks a question in chat is the same contact who filled out the form and opened the email. There's no support stack to sync against the marketing stack. There's one operation.
Intercom vs Giant Context, line by line
Where Intercom goes further, the row says so.
Intercom | Giant Context | |
|---|---|---|
Pricing model | $29–$132 per seat per month, plus about $0.99 per Fin outcome. The AI is a line item that grows with use. | One flat rate on the work the AI does, $25 per million tokens. No seats, no per-resolution fee. |
Knowledge base | Fin's own knowledge base, maintained separately from your blog, docs and marketing pages. | The same knowledge base the chat answers from writes your blog and site. Edit once, and every surface knows. |
Scope | A support platform. It doesn't run your blog, send your marketing emails or build your site. | One AI runs chat, email, forms, CRM, the site and the knowledge base. |
The contact | Support conversations live in the support tool, separate from marketing. | The contact in chat is the same contact in the CRM the AI emailed yesterday. |
Where it fits | A dedicated support org with ticket volume that justifies paying per resolution. | A small team where support is the chat on the marketing site answering pre-sales questions. |
What Intercom does that we don't
Overlap runs on website chat and the knowledge base behind it. Outside that, Intercom goes further.
Fin's resolution & Procedures
Fin resolves more autonomously and executes actions in external systems better than our chat does today.
Deep channels
WhatsApp, SMS and phone support across the platform. We don't do those.
Support reporting
CSAT, first-response time and SLA attainment. We report send rates and per-contact CRM activity, not support metrics.
Implementation partners
A certified partner network for large deployments. We don't have that.
Which one is for you
Pick Intercom if you're a support-led business with ticket volume that justifies paying per resolution for the most mature AI agent in the category. For a fifty-person support org with complex action-execution needs, Fin is the right answer.
Pick Giant Context if you're a small team where the support person is also the marketing person is also the founder, and you'd rather the chat answer from the same knowledge base that writes everything else, on one usage bill instead of seats and resolution fees.
