Move from Webflow without taking the site down

You don't hate Webflow. You just don't want to be its customer anymore. Give the AI your live URL and it rebuilds every page in its own builder, matching your voice. Webflow stays live as a fallback until you're sure.

Who this is for

You built a site on Webflow a while back. It looks decent. You pay for hosting plus the CMS seat, and the site hasn't been updated in months because making changes means remembering how you wired the CMS collections — and that context has gone cold.

The visual builder was great when you built the site. Now it's friction. You want the site to stay live, look at least as good, and stop being one more tab open at 11 pm. Here's the honest version of how the move works, and where it doesn't fit.

What the move looks like, day by day

Fast is 1-2 days if you're decisive. Deliberate is 2-3 weeks if you want to review everything carefully.

Hour 1

Site scraped

You give the AI your live Webflow URL. It scrapes the pages, posts, images, and metadata, and first drafts of every page appear in Giant Context.

Hours 2-6

Fine-tune the voice

Typically two or three rounds of feedback per page before you approve it. You review; the AI adjusts.

Day 1-2

Pages approved

All pages approved and live at a staging subdomain Giant Context provisions for you.

Day 3-7

Subdomain cutover

Point a subdomain like new.yourdomain.com at Giant Context and live with it for a week. Webflow stays up the whole time.

Day 7-10

Root domain cutover

Update your A, AAAA, or CNAME records at your registrar to point the root domain at Giant Context. Auto-generated redirects keep inbound links working.

Day 14

Retire the old plan

After a confident week live, downgrade the Webflow plan to the cheapest tier as an archive, or cancel entirely. Both are reasonable.

What carries over

What doesn't carry over

Webflow interactions and animations. IX2 interactions are platform-specific. The AI recreates the intent — hover states, reveals, parallax — but complex choreography needs rework. If the animations are the product, this migration isn't for you.

Custom code embeds. HTML, CSS, and JS from Webflow's custom code fields are extracted but need review. Third-party scripts may or may not work depending on the service.

Webflow Ecommerce. If you're running a store, this migration isn't for you. Giant Context does not do ecommerce. Webflow Memberships and other gated-content features have no equivalent today either.

Historical analytics stay on Webflow; new analytics start clean at cutover. And a straight note on scope: fully automated, one-button migration is on the roadmap, not shipped. Manual approvals are part of the flow by design. For first-of-a-kind migrations, Jesse is personally in the loop for the edge cases — ask in chat.

What it costs, compared

Webflow bills you for hosting. Giant Context bills you for the AI doing the writing, and hosts the site too.

Hosting the site

$40-200/mo for hosting alone — Business hosting plus Workspace seats and any add-ons.

About $11/mo of uptime for the live site, knowledge base, and custom domain.

Writing the content

A copywriter, designer, or agency on top — a separate bill, often a multiple of hosting.

About $50-150/mo of AI usage at a typical founder cadence — a weekly blog, a monthly email, occasional edits. The AI does the writing.

Total

$40-200/mo, plus whoever writes the content.

$60-160/mo — and that includes the content getting written.

This content was built with MCP using Claude or OpenAI Desktop, LM Studio, Gemini, Codex, or Claude Code MCP. Plain copy, designs, or ideas were submitted to Giant Context and AI finished the job.

Start with the URL

Give the AI your live Webflow address and it comes back within the hour with drafts of every page. Nothing goes live until you approve it, and Webflow stays up as a fallback the whole time. If you want a human in the loop for the edge cases, ask in chat.
