Email headers are the branded strip that appears at the very top of every email you send. They give recipients an instant visual cue about who the message is from—using your logo, brand colors, and navigation links to make your emails look professional and immediately recognizable. You can view and manage all your saved headers from the Email > Headers screen.
Access the Headers list screen to view, edit, and create new branded headers for your email campaigns.
To get started, click the **New Header** button in the top-right corner. A dialog will appear with a single field. Give your header a descriptive internal name—like 'Primary Brand Header'—so your team can easily find it when building campaigns.
The header editor uses the same intuitive visual builder you use for pages, streamlined specifically for the inbox. Instead of the full website toolkit, it provides a curated set of email-safe blocks designed to render flawlessly across all email clients. Drop in an image block for your logo, add text blocks for navigation links, and customize your branding elements with confidence. Behind the scenes, your layout is automatically compiled into responsive, bulletproof code.
Your email header is the first thing recipients see. Use the visual builder to design a reusable, branded strip featuring your logo and navigation links. Once perfected, attach it to any email campaign with a single click in your design settings.
Keep your workspace organized by giving each email header a descriptive internal name. The settings dialog also gives you quick access to the header's unique ID and tracks exactly when it was created or last updated.
Once your header is ready, attaching it to an email is simple. Open your email in the editor, click the Settings icon, and navigate to the Design tab. Choose your new header from the dropdown menu to instantly apply your branding.
Email clients are notorious for stripping out custom CSS. To ensure maximum compatibility across different inboxes, Giant Context compiles your headers into MJML behind the scenes. For the best results, stick to simple, clean designs that render reliably everywhere.
Open your email in the editor and click the Settings icon in the toolbar. Navigate to the Design tab, then select 'None' from the Header dropdown menu to remove it.
Because headers are attached from the outside, any changes you make to a global header will automatically apply to every email that uses it. Update it once, and your entire campaign stays perfectly on brand.
