When you delete something in Giant Context, it doesn't disappear immediately. Deleted items go to Trash first, giving you a safety net in case you change your mind. Think of it as a recycle bin for your project — anything you delete can be brought back within 30 days.
To view your deleted items, click the Trash icon near the bottom of your project sidebar. This opens a detailed table of everything currently in your recycle bin, including the item's type, name, deletion date, the user who removed it, and its expiration date.
Items deleted in Giant Context are safely stored in the Trash instead of disappearing permanently. You can easily locate accidentally removed pages or files using the search field and type filter, then restore them to your project before they expire.
Trash in Giant Context isn't siloed by application—it's a unified safety net for your entire project. Whether you're removing a page from your Website, a contact from your CRM, or an image from your Files, every deleted item flows into a single, centralized recycle bin. This project-wide approach means you can confidently manage and restore content from any app in one place.
When you delete an item in Giant Context, it isn't permanently destroyed right away. Instead, it moves directly to the Trash. While the item is immediately removed from its original location—meaning it will no longer appear in your page list, file browser, or other active views—your data remains safely stored. This built-in safety net ensures you can always recover your work if you change your mind.
When you restore an item, it returns exactly to its original location with all its content perfectly intact. Restored pages recover their complete layout—including all sections, blocks, and settings—while restored files retain their original name, folder location, and metadata. You never have to rebuild or reconfigure recovered work.
Restoring an item is instantaneous. A success notification will confirm the action, and the item will immediately disappear from your Trash view. It returns directly to its original app, allowing you to pick up exactly where you left off without missing a beat.
When you are absolutely certain an item is no longer needed, you can permanently delete it from your Trash. Proceed with caution: this action is irreversible. Once permanently deleted, the item and all its associated data are gone for good and cannot be recovered.
If you need to clear out your recycle bin completely, you can permanently delete everything at once. Click the Empty Trash button in the top-right corner of the Trash view. Because this action is irreversible, a confirmation dialog will appear to verify that you want to permanently erase all items.
While most deleted items safely land in your Trash, certain high-level actions—like removing an entire app or project—bypass the safety net. You'll find these actions in the Danger Zone under your settings. Proceed with caution, as these deletions cannot be reversed.
Every deleted item in Giant Context gets a 30-day safety net. You can track exactly when an item will disappear by checking the Expires column in your Trash view. After 30 days, a daily background cleanup job automatically and permanently removes the data, keeping your project clutter-free without requiring manual maintenance.
The Expires column displays exactly how many days each item has left before permanent deletion. As a helpful visual cue, the text turns red when an item has fewer than seven days remaining, ensuring you never miss a final opportunity to restore your work.
