Segments let you divide your contacts into meaningful groups so you can send the right message to the right people. Define specific criteria—like tags or contact source—to ensure your campaigns reach the perfect audience.
Divide your contacts into meaningful groups so you can send the right message to the right people. Instead of blasting your entire list, define specific criteria—like tags and contact sources—to build dynamic segments that update automatically.
Divide your contacts into meaningful groups based on specific criteria—like tags, contact source, or active status. Combine filters to get as granular as you need, ensuring every campaign reaches the perfect audience. Use the settings gear icon in the top right to adjust your segment rules at any time.
All active filters are combined using AND logic. For example, if you set your tags filter to "Has any of: vip" and your status filter to "Is one of: active", only contacts who match both criteria will appear in your segment. This lets you get as specific as you need.
To remove a filter, open its section and clear the operator.
When you create an email campaign, you select both an email template and a target segment. The campaign delivers that email to every contact in your chosen segment. The campaign detail view displays the attached segment, showing its name and the total number of contacts it contains, along with a direct link to the segment editor.
A segment with zero contacts means your filters are too restrictive. Review your criteria to ensure they aren't mutually exclusive.
Unsubscribed contacts are handled dynamically. They won't receive future campaign sends when filtered by segment subscription criteria.
The campaign detail view shows which segment is attached, including the segment name, how many contacts it contains, and a direct link to the segment editor.
